Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about playing, booking, and running courts.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. You can browse venues and open-play games from the landing page without signing in. You only need an account to book a court, host, or join a game.
How do I join a game?
Open the Play tab, pick an open match at your skill level, and tap Join. If it's already full, you'll join the waitlist and get promoted automatically when a slot frees up.
What is "open play"?
An open match is a game other players can join. The host reserves a court and sets the format, time, capacity, and skill range — then players fill the open slots.
Can I book a whole court just for my group?
Yes. Go to Play → Host and choose "Private booking — reserve the whole court for my group." No strangers will join.
Why does my booking say "pending"?
Some venues require the owner to approve bookings. Until they do, your booking is just a request. You'll be notified the moment it's confirmed (or declined).
What is DUPR / my rating?
It's a skill number used to create fair, balanced games. If you're unrated, the app uses an internal rating that improves as you log results — so beginners still get good matches.
How are teams decided in doubles?
When a doubles match fills to 4 players, the app automatically forms Team A vs Team B to keep the predicted score close, pairing a stronger player with a weaker one on each side.
How do I become a court owner?
Register and choose "Court Owner." An admin reviews your application; once approved, you can sign in and add your venues, courts, and availability.
What is the Live Match Board?
It's a full-screen display for a venue showing what's happening on each court right now (players, teams, and score) plus what's scheduled next. Owners can cast it to a TV at their courts.
How do I change my password, username, or details?
Open the avatar menu (top-right) → My Profile. You can update your personal details, username, ratings, and password there.
What happens if a player doesn't show up?
The host or venue owner can mark them as a no-show. This frees their slot and is noted on the player's profile.
